Stewardship and Engagement

These Annual Stewardship and Engagement reports outline CLAM’s and Canada Life's approach during 2022 to the stewardship of the assets under its management.

Engagement Policy

This Policy explains the principles Canada Life Asset Management Limited (CLAM), has in place for the monitoring of, voting in and engagement with investee companies, ensuring compliance with Article 3g of the Shareholder Rights Directive (SRD II).

Engagement Report 2022

Canada Life Asset Management's ISS Engagement Report 2022. We view engagement as an important process by which we can enhance the incorporation of ESG into our investment approach. It is complementary to the integration of ESG factors into our investment process and enhances and enriches it.

Conflicts of Interest Policy

This Policy explains Canada Life UK Group of Companies (CLUK) appropriate systems and controls it has in place to identify and to prevent or manage potential, perceived and actual Conflicts of Interest that arise in the course of providing its services between itself, including its employees, or any person(s) directly or indirectly linked to it by control, or between one customer and another.

Voting Policy

This Policy explains the responsibility Canada Life Asset Management (CLAM) takes to vote seriously and in the best interest of our customers. It is our responsibility to exercise our voting rights in a considered manner, within the context of a positive relationship with a company’s management. This Policy applies to all financial instruments with voting rights.

Real Estate ESG Policy

Given that our business activities have wide-ranging environmental, social and governance (ESG) impacts, we want occupiers, local communities, investors, staff, suppliers, the people who work, shop and live in our buildings, and the wider society to benefit from our activity – creating positive social and environmental outcomes.

The Property team at Canada Life Asset Management has a track record of incorporating sustainability into its real estate strategy. This roadmap explains our proposed plan for the upcoming years to 2030, including the targets we have set and the metrics we will be using to track our progress.
