Jake Lawrence

Jake Lawrence is a Non-Executive Director of Canada Life Limited and Canada Life UK Holdings Limited.  His current role is Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Power Corporation and Power Financial.

Jake brings over 20 years of global financial services experience spanning finance, treasury, capital markets and risk management. During his 22-year career at Scotiabank, he held progressively senior leadership roles in Canada and the United States, culminating in his appointment as Chief Executive Officer and Group Head, Global Banking and Markets, where he led the bank’s global corporate and investment banking businesses.

Jake currently serves as a director of IG Wealth Management, Mackenzie Inc., Great-West Lifeco, Canada Life, Empower, Wealthsimple Financial Corp. and Sagard Holdings Inc. He serves on the Board of Directors of St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation and previously served as Chair of the Canadian Advisory Board for Right To Play, was a member of the Advisory Council for Women in Capital Markets and has served as Chair of the Ontario Housing Affordability Task Force.

Mr. Lawrence holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from Lakehead University and a Master of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University.
