Life-changing events
Helping you to navigate big life changes
Sometimes life changes quickly, often in ways we don’t expect. We’re here to support you and help you navigate these changes in whatever way we can.
On this page we’ll provide information on how we can support you following a life-changing event.
How we can help
Knowing where to start following a life-changing event can be challenging. We can help you, whether you need to talk to us over the phone or need some guidance on your next steps.
Bereavement support
Following a bereavement, there can be a lot to think about. We’ve created a guide to explain the practical steps you may need to take, how to let us know, and where to find extra support during this difficult time. You can find this guide here.
Divorce and pensions
A divorce can be one of the most stressful life events that people can go through. Adding in financial decisions, such as what to do you with your pension, can make it even more difficult. To help make things a little easier, we’ve created a guide that explains everything you need to know about your pension following a divorce. You can find this guide here.
Caring responsibilities
If you’re caring for someone now, or think you might be in future, please let us know how we can support you.
If you’re a Power of Attorney, we can register this on our system so we can speak to you on their behalf. If you’re not a Power of Attorney, but someone would like you to talk to us for them, we can do this as long as they’re with you on the call.
You can find out more about a Power of Attorney and Delegated Authority here.
Putting your financial affairs in order
Big life-changing events can impact our finances, and at a time like that, it’s the last thing you want to worry about.
Speaking to a financial adviser can help you to evaluate what would be best for your individual needs and recommend products that they think might be suitable.
Let us know about a life event
If you’re experiencing a life-changing event and need some extra support, we’re here to help. This could include:
- Dealing with the loss of a loved one
- Being made redundant or losing your job
- Going through a divorce or separation
- Being diagnosed with a serious illness
- Facing bankruptcy or serious debt
We know these can be difficult things to talk about, but you don’t have to manage them alone. We’re here to support you, so please get in touch in your own time, in whatever way feels most comfortable for you. Our contact details can be found here.
Help and support
We understand that everyone’s situation is different. Whether you’re dealing with a financial scam, need extra support due to health or accessibility needs, are looking for help with our products, or coping with a bereavement — we’re here to support you.
