Specialist Cancer Care and Personal Nurse Service

Insurance is more than just financial protection. While it provides essential security, a critical illness event or diagnosis effects every aspect of someone's life - physically, psychologically and practically.

In the unfortunate event an employee needs to make a claim, they or an eligible loved one* can access one of our Critical Illness Care services at no extra cost as part of our Group Critical Illness cover.

These services are included for every employee making a critical illness claim or an eligible loved one* at no additional cost, whether the claim is accepted or not, for up to 12 months from the point support begins.

Specialist Cancer Care

Cancer is a complex recovery journey.  Through Group Critical Illness, employees diagnosed with cancer, or an eligible loved one*, have access to Canada Life’s Specialist Cancer Care, delivered by Perci Health, a CQC-registered cancer clinic and Macmillan Cancer Support partner. The service is clinically governed and specialist-led. 

Employees are supported by a dedicated Cancer Nurse Specialist who provides ongoing one-to-one support from diagnosis through treatment and beyond. They also have access to up to three additional clinician sessions with a team of specialist cancer clinicians, helping strengthen long term recovery and rehabilitation, supporting a sustained return to work. 

Personal Nurse Service

Our Personal Nurse Service, provided by Healix Health, offers clinical, emotional and practical support for employees living with all other types of critical conditions.

Employees or an eligible loved one* can receive unlimited support via phone, video call and email from a dedicated specialist nurse, who works with them to identify personalised goals that are realistic, measurable and aligned with their clinical situation. They focus on empowering them to understand their condition, while supporting navigation of the NHS pathway, providing chronic disease education, and helping them build confidence in self-management to achieve optimal outcomes. 

*These services are available for employees claiming under a Group Critical Illness policy, or the employee’s spouse/partner making a critical illness claim on the policy, or an immediate family caregiver providing care for the employee, spouse, partner, or child. The services cannot directly support anyone under the age of 18.

These services are non-contractual benefits provided through Canada Life and can be altered or withdrawn at any time.
