LATEST UPDATE – 6 November 2025: The High Court hearing was due to take place on 27th November 2025. We have taken the decision to postpone this hearing. We are proposing to transfer some of our Canada Life Limited products to Countrywide Assured plc

This page provides you with key information relating to the proposed transfer of:

  • The Select Account
  • Flexible Investment Bond
  • Select Investment Bond
  • Total Access Bond
  • Trustee Investment Plan
  • Flexible Drawdown Plan

We’ll keep this page updated when there are developments in the transfer process.

What's happened so far:

Following a review of our products and services, in 2024 we announced that we were no longer accepting applications from new Select Account and Trustee Investment Plan customers.

We have since reached an agreement for Countrywide Assured, a subsidiary of Chesnara plc, to acquire these policies.

Customers’ policies are now expected to transfer to Countrywide Assured in 2026, subject to the completion of a court-approved Part VII transfer. Customers will be kept informed as the transfer progresses. Please see About the transfer section for more details on the change of date.

What should I do next?

Full details are included in the customer letter and guide, which have been posted to you and are also attached below. If you don’t have any questions or concerns after reading this information, there is no need to take any further action in relation to the transfer. We recommend that you keep these documents with your policy documents for future reference. If anyone else has an interest in your plan (for example, joint holders, assignees or trustees), please ensure they are informed about the proposed transfer as soon as possible.

If you would like to receive further information about the transfer or have any questions, please contact us.
