Sylvia Cronin

Sylvia is an independent non-executive director of Canada life Limited and has approximately 25 years’ experience in the Life insurance sector and most recently as Director of Insurance Supervision in the Central Bank of Ireland. Sylvia is a highly experienced professional with a successful track record as a senior executive in the financial services industry operating in highly regulated markets in Ireland and internationally with a career developed in the private sector and more recently in the public sector. Her experience of insurance and reinsurance undertakings was regarded as highly valuable when considering her appointment to the Board. Sylvia has also been appointed to the Boards of Canada Life Assurance Europe plc and Canada Life International Assurance (Ireland) dac within the Great-West Lifeco Inc group.

Sylvia has previously held executive positions at Augura Life Ireland Ltd, MGM International Assurance Ltd, AXA Insurance, eBusiness Director U.K. & Irl, and AMEV General Insurance Co. Ltd., Blackrock. Sylvia was a member of Member of the Board of Supervisors EIOPA and Executive Committee Member of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS).
