How do I transfer my pension?

If you haven’t already started receiving your pension, you might be able to transfer its value to another registered pension scheme or personal pension plan. To do this, you'll need to send us a written request. You can do this by either logging in to <a rel="noopener" href="https://oneview.canadalife.co.uk/login" target="_blank">Canada Life OneView</a> or contacting us on <a rel="noopener" href="https://contactpensionsadmin.com/canadalife" target="_blank">Contact Canada Life Pensions</a> and selecting 'Transfer your pension'.

Is there a charge for providing a transfer quote?

Most policyholders can get one free transfer quote every 12 months. If you’ve already had a quote in the last year, we’ll let you know and explain the next steps, including any charges that might apply.

How long will it take to send me a transfer quote?

We aim to send all transfer quotes as quickly as we can, usually within 20 working days. Sometimes there may be delays we can’t control, for example if we need information from a third party. If there’s a big delay, we’ll let you know what’s happening.

Can I get an extension to the guaranteed transfer value if I need one?

The guarantee period for your transfer value is set by law, so we can’t extend it. If you think Canada Life has caused a delay, please go to <a rel="noopener" href="https://contactpensionsadmin.com/canadalife" target="_blank">Contact Canada Life Pensions</a> and choose ‘Transfer your pension’ to get in touch. We’ll review what’s happened and let you know the next steps.
