Secure Income and Pension Savings or investments in Pension Drawdown, or both

Information about your planned transfer to the Parmenion SIPP, how your Secure Income will continue, your other options, and what you need to do next.

Who this page is for

This page is for you if you hold Secure Income and either Pension Savings or investments in Pension Drawdown, or both.

Canada Life pays your Secure Income into your Pension Drawdown account. Your letter and Account Summary show whether you also hold Pension Savings, and whether there are currently any investments in your Pension Drawdown account. If you’re unsure whether this is the right page for you, check those documents before continuing.

What is planned for your account

We plan to transfer your Retirement Account to a new account with Parmenion. Like The Retirement Account, this new Parmenion account is a self-invested personal pension, or SIPP. After the transfer, Canada Life will continue making your Secure Income payments gross of any income tax into your Parmenion SIPP.

The transfer to Parmenion begins on 13 November 2026. We aim to complete your transfer within 10 working days. Because other investment providers are involved in moving your funds, individual investments may move at different times and, for a small number of customers, the transfer can take longer. If that happens, we’ll contact you. Your financial adviser can track the progress of your transfer.

We selected Parmenion after assessing the market and considering a number of providers. We believe their pension, investment and retirement services can provide an appropriate ongoing home for affected customers, and we’re confident customers will be well supported.

If you’re comfortable with the planned transfer and the information in your Account Summary is correct, you do not need to contact us.

If you've already asked us to transfer your Retirement Account to another provider, to withdraw all of your pension savings, or to buy an annuity, the process you've started will continue as normal.

What happens if you do nothing

If we haven’t received an instruction for your pension before 30 October 2026, Parmenion will set up your new SIPP, and we’ll start transferring your pension into it on 13 November 2026. From this date, you will no longer be a member of The Retirement Account and will become a member of the Parmenion SIPP.

After the transfer, Canada Life will continue making your Secure Income payments gross of any income tax into your Parmenion SIPP.

By doing nothing, you will become a customer of Parmenion and agree to their Terms & Conditions and SIPP Trust Deed and Rules. You’ll also be confirming that you’re a retail investor, your country of residence, and that you’re a resident in the UK for tax purposes.

When the transfer process is complete, Parmenion will send you a Welcome Pack. This pack will contain information about your new account, including how to access it, its terms, charges and support arrangements.

If you decide afterwards that Parmenion isn’t right for you, you can transfer your Parmenion SIPP to another provider at any time without penalty. But your Secure Income may then need to be converted into a Canada Life Lifetime Annuity. Because The Retirement Account is closing, you won’t be able to move back to it.

Your other options

You don’t have to transfer your pension to Parmenion. But if you want to choose another option, you must take the relevant steps before 30 October 2026.

Because you hold Secure Income, choosing another option may change how your income is held, paid and taxed. What is possible depends on whether you hold Pension Savings, and whether there are investments in your Pension Drawdown account.

Your letter and Account Summary will provide more information about your individual circumstances.

Important information

There are some important things to understand about the planned transfer, how your Secure Income will continue and how your new account will work.

What you should do now

  • Check that your letter and Account Summary correctly show whether there are any investments in your Pension Drawdown account
  • Read your Account Summary and tell us if anything is wrong, missing or has changed, including your Secure Income details
  • Read your Customer Guide, or the parts that apply to you
  • Speak to a financial adviser if you are unsure what is right for you

If you want to choose another option, take the steps explained in Sections 9 and 10 of your Customer Guide before 30 October 2026. If we do not receive an instruction before this date, Parmenion will set up your new SIPP, and we’ll start transferring your pension into it on 13 November 2026. From this date, you will no longer be a member of The Retirement Account and will become a member of the Parmenion SIPP.

If you’re happy with what we’ve arranged and your Account Summary is correct, you don’t need to do anything else.

Your Customer Guide gives you the full explanation of the planned transfer to the Parmenion SIPP, your other options and what to expect before and after the transfer. Please read it alongside your letter and Account Summary.
