A step-by-step guide to making a Critical Illness claim
If you are making a Life claim rather than a Critical Illness claim, please go to our Life Insurance claims page.
Before you begin
Make sure you have the following information to hand if it’s available:
- Your policy number
- Basic details about the condition you’re making a claim for
1. Start your claim
You can start your claim in one of the following ways:

Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
Email us at: firstname.lastname@example.org
2. We’ll review your claim
We’ll send you a claim form to fill in and return. Please include your GP or consultant’s details as we’ll need to contact them. Once we receive your claim, we’ll keep you updated on our progress.
3. Get a decision
We’ll aim to give you a decision as quickly as we can. If we approve your claim, we’ll make a payment to the nominated account (usually the person making a claim).
Just so you’re aware, we’ll continue your cover if you’re making an additional illness or a child’s critical illness claim. For everything else, your policy will end once we approve your claim.
If we don’t approve the claim, we’ll tell you why and let you know how to appeal.
