Actuarial Graduate
Actuarial Assistant
I took a different path from most when starting my actuarial career, having studied engineering at university. I chose the graduate actuarial scheme at Canada Life because I felt that throughout the application and interview process, they wanted to invest in my career by supporting my professional development. This was particularly important to me as I didn’t study actuarial science or maths at university. In a short period of time, I’ve already been exposed to many different areas of the business, which has proved particularly useful for my studies.
Canada Life has a very positive work culture and atmosphere – it’s a great place to work. It can be daunting starting a new job in a new profession, but my colleagues took the time out to explain and answer my questions. I’ve been given responsibility very early on and always felt my work has been valued. If you’re looking for a company with an excellent study scheme and work-life balance, I think Canada Life is a great place to kick start a successful actuarial career.
