Our flexible benefits put your employees in control of their cover. We tailor our policies to suit your business needs so that it’s right for you and your employees. This means you’ll be able to select the benefits you want to offer and your employees can choose the cover that works with their budget.

About flexible benefits

Flexible benefits put your employees in control of their benefits package. As an employer, you’ll select the type of benefits you want to offer, including any core and voluntary benefits. Your employees can then choose the cover they want using your flexible benefits platform.

Core benefits

Many employers choose to provide a core benefit and allow employees to top-up their core benefit with voluntary cover.

You’ll fund the core benefits whether your employees select this cover or not. If they do, your employees can then choose to alter their benefit at set times of the year or at certain life events.

Just so you’re aware, some flexible benefit policies, such as Partner Life Insurance, can only be offered as a voluntary benefit.

Voluntary-only benefits

You can offer voluntary-only benefits. This means there is no core benefit and your employees choose their own cover and fund it themselves.

Just so you’re aware, some flexible benefit policies, such as Income Protection, require a core benefit.

Increasing or decreasing benefits

Your employees have various opportunities to increase or decrease their benefits. This can happen when they join the policy, at a certain time each year, or at certain life events.

Joining the policy

When your employee joins the policy, they can select the amount of cover they need.

Life events

Life events are milestones that allow your employees to change their benefits up or down. Life events can include:

  • Moving home
  • Getting married
  • Having a child

Annual selection window

Your employees also have an annual opportunity to increase or decrease their benefits. You can decide how much they can amend their cover by when you set up the policy.

Group Critical Illness

Our critical illness cover provides a tax-free payment to your employees if they’re diagnosed with one of the defined illnesses, has undergone one of the surgical procedures, or circumstances occur which means that the definition of an insured illness we cover is met.

Key features

  • Children's cover included with every policy
  • Partner cover is available up to £250,000
  • 12 core illnesses covered on every policy, including cancer, heart attack and stroke
  • Add a further 26 illnesses for more comprehensive cover
  • You can also include cover for:
    • a diagnosis of a second or subsequent cancer
